Organizing Day and a Giveaway

I spent a lot of today organizing my stash that was taking over! Made four spreadsheets, ironed fabrics and put them in plastic bins (WIPS and KITS), and now I am thinking about stitching and finishing a project I am doing. BUT--wait, there's more! How about a GIVEAWAY before I settle in? Yes, I have a project that I no longer feel the need to stitch... so why not give it someone who wants to stitch it?? Yeah! The chart is by Waxing Moon Designs, called My Needle and My Floss. Here is what I will give away: Chart, and 32-count Lambswool fabric cut to framing size and serged. All the winner needs to do is pick their threads!

So, in order to win, you must do the following:
One--Be a regular follower, and TWO--comment on THIS POST ONLY that you wish to win this Giveaway! That's it! Random drawing will be held on Friday, August 31st.

(Sorry--no international winners this time...Postage is terribly high and funds are not! This doesn't mean I don't love you, just have to save up a bit before I can do one for YOU! And I WILL!)

Hugs, Maggee

I'm in the mood for............... Purple!

It's an in-between seasons time to me, and I took down my patriotic display but it is too early to put up Fall things, so... I am in the mood to change things up! And when I went to Marshall's I found this lovely purple dish and knew that I wanted a purple vignette! The dish is Italian blown glass, and I love it! The candle holder was not labeled and may NOT be from the same artist, but I don't care--they go together just fine! Then, I felt in the mood to stitch some purple works to also be displayed, and just finished the second one last night. Haven't had much stitching time, so these two pieces just fit the bill for lunch stitching time! The Sampler one is a freebie from 123Citrouille's blog (a while ago!) and the bird is 'Yellow Bird' by La D Da! I may stitch that again and again in other colors, but purple it is! So, without further ado...

My last PIF made it to Cucki in South Africa, so I can show it now!

I sent her some specialty threads and Mary Engelbreit note cards, besides the PIF accessories I gathered.

This is the extra pin cushion in one of the new LK Boxers, whose name escapes me right this minute! No time to run upstairs and dig around for it...I will amend tonight!

And I hand sewed the trim on this one too.

Well, gotta get going to work!

Giving credit...

I was pretty tired last night when I did that post! And I neglected to give credit and a shout out to my stitching buddies, for their parts in the collaboration Birthday pillow to Darlene! Jennifer aka 'serialstarter' and Sheryl (not blogging) were the co-conspirators with me in stitching the pillow! The original pattern was a yellow, gold, and black butterfly. Not at all Darlene's style! So we changed it up one Sunday, and voila!

LOTS of pictures to share...

As promised, just way later... I have pictures of WIPs and some PIFs to share. Without further ado... let's get cracking! First are some WIPs:

I finally put Seashell Silhouette into my rotation! But--I decided to do it teensy weensy, one over one on 28-count fabric! It is going to be ever so cute. The blue is Crescent Colours Peacock, silk... love the feel of it.

Here's a closeup of the stitching. Not perfect, cause some nights I really struggle with the tiny little stitching... Going through new glasses lately... and adjusting has been challenging to put it mildly! At least the headaches are gone!

Fruit of the Spirit by My Big Toe. For me! Well, today it is... let's see what happens when I finish it! It is half the size of the ones I did for my two daughters last year, so if I would focus on it... I would finish in no time... But, no... I have lots more to stitch on... I saw someone say in their blog that they felt ADD cause they had so many projects going. Hmmm...

Sampler Roundy by Shakespeare's Peddler. Come on now--really? I didn't continue on?? Oh but I am changing the colors... takes time to think it out!

This is Lizzie Kate's ABC's of Parenting. My first ABC's one from her. I cannot decide how to stitch it in the Qsnap... all the way across or up/down in one frame, then move it over and up/down...Poor excuse, but... it's how I think...

Isn't this one looking pretty? It is on overdyed 16-count aida, and I am enjoying stitching on it! Who'da thought?!? It is Cheryl's Bouquet, the collaboration piece I showed in July. I am sure liking it!

This is my progress on the Saturday SAL I am doing with my stitching buddies. It is Birds of a Feather by With Thy Needle, and I finished Part One and started Part Two...Terrible picture...sorry!

And this is progress on Kindness Begets by Birds of a Feather. I am not liking the light green color, so planning to rippp it out and start over. Later... sigh...

Why is this a WIP you may be asking? Well, I don't like the chenille. It is glued down, and I guess I used too much glue cause the chenille is hard! And I don't know if I should take it off or put something over it!(Suggestions welcome!) Plus, I have to line the interiors. So it is still a Work In Progress, even if the stitching is done. It is my first box finish.

This is a part of Home is Where You Hang Your Needlework by Homespun Elegance. Technically the stitching is finished, but I am making it into something new to me, (again) and so I classify it as a WIP!

Now we move on to the PIF's! Two of three have been received so far...

First is the one to Joyce. I did blended threads for the tail feathers. That was fun!

Each pin cushion had trim that I sewed on. Just not sure about gluing right now...Came out good. Also included scissors, pins, buttons and a fat quarter for finishing!

Next is the one to Maureen. Her pincushion is a one-of-a-kind, because it is stitched on 40-count fabby, over two, which I had never done before. Not sure I want to ever again...

Again, sewed the trim on. Love that bunny! Also included scissors and fob that I made, pins, buttons and a fat quarter also.

That's all the WIPs and PIFs I can show you! But I do want to end with a finish, so... here is a picture of a Birthday gift my stitching buddies and I made for Darlene. We all stitched parts of it, and Patti finished it for us! Isn't it gorgeous? It really was a collaboration piece, and Darlene loved it!

Well, it is late and I have not even stitched tonight! My how time flies! I hope you have enjoyed seeing all these projects! Have a final question now... What do you call projects that are pulled together but not yet stitched? I know that is 'kitted' but is there a fun acronymn for it? Or am I just too tired to think about it?
