Vacation Stitching pictures

Well, today is the last day of my vacation... (sad face) I did manage to get a fair amount of stitching done, either at the timeshare or at home. So, without further ado... here come the pictures! My progress on the freebie from Heartstring Samplery/Beth Twist called 'Make It Do" Finished the borders on the Summer Mystery SAL by With Thy Needle, called Birds of a Feather. I hope to do one flower a day in June, which should bring me right up to when the next installment arrives! I FINALLY finished the border on this one, after having to tear it out 4 times! Then I just had to stitch some of the inside!! It is pretty cute so far, despite the crappity picture I took... This is on my list of Challenge pieces. A little more progress on Cast Your Cares by My Big Toe, one of my Vacation starts from last year! Also one of my Up for a Challenge pieces! And a bit of work on the Bent Creek "Cabin in the Woods", another one from last year's Vacation starts and on this year's Challenge list on my sidebar. I sure wish I could stitch more --have a ways to go! Then, as if I do not have enough projects going at one time, I started Border Study in Red, the pattern I HAD to have and hunted down!! Am using 36-count Lakeside Linen called 'Vintage Exemplar", which is a new count for me. I usually stick to 32-count but just thought these patterns (I also have #2!!) would look good a little smaller. I am changing it a tiny bit here and there--my personal touch you see...

I stitched a wee bit more on 'Sachet' by Marc Davis of Needlemania. Love the piece, but love so many others too! It's a BAP, so I plug away every now and then.

I worked on 'A New Day' by My Big Toe, and got the entire top border done, and was working on the flowers...BUT, the fabric was just not my cup of tea, so will get a different color and start anew, at a later date. So, NO picture of that.

It sure doesn't look like much stitching... but I am not a fast stitcher, unless it is in a Q-Snap, and not many are. However, it is my passion and I love doing it, and that's all that matters!

I know that Blogger is messed up as far as commenting, so... be patient. They may come through if enough of us complain!!

Vacation Update

Well, here I am on vacation...It's a Stitching vacation! And I am progressing nicely on the Summer Mystery SAL by With My Needle & Thread, called Birds of a Feather. So far I have finished the outside border and very shortly the inside border will be done! But--then I am moving onto another project or three!I finished-finished my two PIF's and the recipients have received them--but I cannot show them here cause I did not take pictures! Silly me! It looks like it will be beautiful weather all week so I will get out and walk, maybe play miniature golf, maybe sit in the sun and stitch a little... such possibilities. The timeshare resort is more crowded this year, so we shall see... So don't worry about me if there are no posts with weekend I will get to those. Hugs, Maggee

Finished stitching Summer Blooms now...

This makes #8 completed of my 15 for 'Up for a Challenge'. I think 4 of the next 7 are more involved and large, so they may not get done right away... But I will try to finish them all this year. (this is not my 8th finish tho... gotta see how many I have done this year so far...) I used 32-count R & R French Vanilla again, with a mix of variegated threads and DMC as called for in the pattern.

Now I want to start a sweet new LHN pattern that I have lusted for a long time, called A Rose in the Morning. Can't wait to get upstairs and start it today, BUT... not quite yet. A few chores and things to do. (I sure hope my hubby steps up and does dinner for me... it would be nice...)

Happy Mothers Day to all my friends and fellow bloggers!

A new Finish--Spring Blooms!

Yes, I finished another piece for my Up for a Challenge list! This makes #7!! It is done on 32-count R & R French Vanilla, using a mix of DMC and the required threads, otherwise known as what I have in my stash!! Now I am busy working on Summer Blooms, the companion piece. Thinking they will look nice framed in black. Yes? No? Hugs, Maggee

The Daffodils--a favorite poem

The Daffodils
by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee:
A Poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

*EDITED to fix the alignment, which was NOT the same as when I posted it!!*
