Finished Joy in the Journey!

I finished Joy in the Journey last night, before I went to bed! It was a stormy night, perfect for stitching! Can't wait to get it framed and hung!
This is my 6th Up 4 a Challenge piece I have finished this year! (not my 6th finish though, cause I have managed others in between!) Yay!

Now I get to choose another one to work on! Oh such decisions!!

Today I feel very grateful for the ability to host my family for a holiday. Having a house that accomodates everyone, being able to buy enough groceries to feed everyone, having a little extra money for Easter goodies here and there--all this is definitely something for which I am VERY grateful! This in retrospect, since Easter was yesterday, but I still feel it! Hugs, Maggee

Mystery Chart Revealed!!

I received a comment today from Dale C. who said the design is called Border Study in Red by Heron Designs, and she said it was available at an online store she uses. Needless to say, I have already ordered it. But you can read the comments below and find the name of the store so you can get your OWN copy if you wanted this pattern! THANKS A BUNCH Dale!!

Beautiful Birthday Gift! and progress reports

Saturday we had stitching at my house, and Darlene gave me an absolutely gorgeous stitched AND framed piece for my birthday (which was in February but we stitchers have our own deadlines)!! I don't know the designer, but it is so pretty!! Once this weekend passes and company leaves I will find it a permanent home, but for now it is in my living room where it can be shown off!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Darlene!

I finally frogged the house and roof from Joy in the Journey last week, and stitched it back and then some on Saturday. I got a good deal done, as you can see from the picture below... Now, you will have to trust me in that I also finished another piece this week, because it is a PIF and I can't post a picture yet. In May, I will give it to the new owner and THEN post! In fact, I will have TWO PIF's to give while I am on vacation in May! What fun! It is another stitching vacation!! Woo Hoo!! I am getting excited!! May 20th cannot come soon enough!!

Gonna go stitch on PIF#2..

It's not that I am NOT stitching...

I am still here!! It's just that I cannot show any pictures right now--doing obligation stitching! But today I am going to stitch on Joy in the Journey by Diane Williams, one of my UP for a Challenge pieces, after I tore out the entire house! Hopefully will have some progress to post later... Enjoy the weekend! Hugs, Maggee

Does anyone know this chart's name or designer?

I saw this stitched by someone else on one of my Yahoo groups, and LOVE it! But she did not know who it was by or the name of it--she said it was an older piece. IF ONLY I could find out, and hunt it down to do it myself! If anyone knows, I would be so grateful... I would even be happy to give a reward of a chart in my stash!

Spring finish

I just could not resist throwing this little one into the mix, so I started it mid-week, worked on it sporadically because I also loved stitching Spring Flowers, and I am happy that I finished it last night. It is a freebie by Glory Bee, and I stitched it on 28-count Lugana using DMC threads almost as called for! I just had to have it and will make it into a pin cushion. Yesterday at Stitching Group I started June of the LHN monthlies. But, in planning what else to do (I will do the monthly at work during breaks and lunches), I am thinking June will be all I get done for a while, if not for the year. I have LOTS to do! Want to get cracking on my Up for a Challenge pieces! Ah, but ... we shall see. Things are always changing.

A few finishes

I have a few finishes to show. First up is a 'herd' of bunnies that I stitched to make a Bunny Tree for Spring. The tree WAS full with them, but I have given a few away. I must stitch a few to replace them. But you get the picture... Then, I got this adorable chart on Ebay called Spring Flowers by Sam Sarah (from2000!!). It is so ME, as I like things that are different! Or I use colors that are different. THIS is just too cute. My picture taking does not show how buttery-yellow this R & R Hush-A-Bye 32-count linen is, but it is very sweet. Now to frame it... I think that is all, but I will check around. Lots of irons in the fire!

Happy 'Name Yourself Day' !!! And the winners are...

I was so excited about doing these fun Giveaways, but considering all the stitching bloggers out there, and all the followers I have... not much interest! Hmmm... But it just increases the chances of winning for all you entrants, yes? Without further ado, since there are only 10 names, I wrote the names down on slips of paper, then threw them in a bowl and drew out three: 'Flora McDonald' (Kate), 'Sarah' ( Alda) and 'Autumn' (Deborah) are the winners!! Congratulations! Please email me with your addresses and the packages will go out next weekend!

Thanks for reading my blog! I will be posting finish pictures later on today.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Well, it is Sunday, but yesterday was so busy... no time to post about this NEW Giveaway! April 9th is 'Name Yourself Day' and to celebrate that, I am having a giveaway, with THREE winners and three prizes! (see below) TO ENTER: 1--you must be a follower; and 2--you must leave a comment describing what you would name yourself and the story behind choosing that name. Name Yourself Day is your chance to give yourself whatever name you'd like...for a day. If you like your name, then change your name for just today. If you don't like your name, use today to select a new name for life! Change your first, or middle, or last name. Or, change them all. Give yourself a cool and catchy nickname.

That's it! If you want to spread the news about this fun Giveaway, that would be okay. The more new names and stories, the merrier! The Drawings will be on April 9th and I will send out the packages the following weekend.

Have Fun and I look forward to reading your comments!
