Received Summer Ornament (All Seasons Ornament Exchange)

I received my Summer Ornament from Jill! How very cute! It is from Lizzie Kate's 'Summer Crazy' and it is called 'Life's a Picnic'. Jill says it was stitched on 28 count celery/white Graziano with DMC floss. If you look closely, there are beads for the seeds on the watermelon and berries! Thank you very much Jill! Yours will be on the way shortly. Hugs, Maggee

TUSAL 5-24-09

Here is my first picture of my TUSAL jar. Tho it was taken on the correct day, did not post until today because I have bronchitis and have not been up to working on the computer or even stitching until now! Missed the whole holiday weekend, was so sick. Oh well, am getting better now. Have lots to catch up on!

Got a Camera! Plus saved other pics

Got a Kodak digital camera. It is PINK! Supposed to be purple, looked purple in the store... but I like PINK too! And I found my card reader so could get the pictures off my old stick (which I will use in my digital frame now)So, without further ado...
This is how much progress I made on Alla Turca by Pelin Tezer. Boy, this is such a nice piece. Am really enjoying stitching it.

And this is my progress on My Quaker House by Blackbird Designs. Considering I was on vacation, having fun with family, I got a fair amount done.

I also did a fun little bird design I got from a stitching blog (need to look up the name later), and decided at the last minute to 'liven' the flower! Used Weeks Hot Rod...

My middle granddaughter wanted to learn how to cross stitch. This is a picture of her work. Unfortunately, I did not bring supplies for teaching, and this piece of 18 count aida was all that I had. Plus I only had petite needles. So, considering she is using such a small count AND a tiny needle, I think she did well. The fabric is what I am using for This Heart of Mine by Ink Circles. (Update below...) I had intended to work on it also, but did not have any regular scissors to cut the end off so we could both work on the fabric.
Yesterday I got my Framed Loose Feathers piece back--it is so lovely! It is part 4 of the Mystery Sampler 2008.

Well, have to go do some laundry and such. It is a rainy day, so maybe I will actually get to sit and stitch instead of running errands!

Back from Vacation in Florida and NEWS!

My camera is broken! I stitched a LOT while on vacation and cannot take pictures!! I am so bummed! Had a great time at my timeshare with my daughter and her family. Got badly sunburned around Tuesday, which limited my time in the sun but then I could STITCH more!! The temps were at least 95 the entire week we were there. Back here at home in Virginia Beach, it rained all but one day. Monday, when I was back, the high was 60!! I wore a sweater!! Brrr... NEWS FLASH! My youngest daughter called today to say the doctors think her pregnancy is a good one, so I am going to be a Grandma again! Her sister is going to be an Aunt for the first time, so she is terribly excited--almost as much! Next week we may get the due date and the following Friday an ultrasound and hear the heartbeat(s??). Pretty wonderful. She will be a WONDERFUL Mommy! I just joined the TOTALLY USELESS SAL, (TUSAL) so will be collecting orts in this really cute pink jar I had lying around. If you want more info, go here: Well, going to get some work done. Hugs, Maggee
