Mish Mash... ( a couple Finishes, new little WIP, and some framing)

Just a quick post, to share my latest Little House Sheep Virtue finish for August, which is Wisdom:

And another finish, called Shelter a Friend by Glory Bee:

And then I started a new freebie, by Heartstring Samplery, called Earth Laughs...

AND... I did a bit more lacing and framing for my friend, of the 'inherited' pieces:

And the Snow Couple one, with a frame that I painted to match... Love this one!

And finally, my husband put together a frame for the Prairie Schooler Birdhouse Sampler that I finished, and I laced it and framed it... Gave it to Aunt Audrey in Maryland, when we went back in July...

...cutting frame pieces from scraps...

Ta-Da! (we tidied up those inside edges after I took the picture) I loved this... and was kinda disappointed when it was not as well received as I thought it might be... She has done cross stitch in the past, plus quilting... thought she'd like it...Those are the chances you take, gifting to other than family and fellow stitchers!

Well, that's it for now...

Thanks for visiting!

Hugs,

Maggee

I'm disappointed for you, and can't believe that Aunt Audrey wasn't thrilled with your gift. I love that design and your honey's frame. Someday I hope to stitch this design.

Love your finishes! Hopefully your Aunt loved her beautiful gift as well and just failed to let it show so much. You and your husbands skills are a fantastic combo!

Sweet work Maggee! You did nice work for your friend. Aunt Audrey's piece is so very pretty. I have had the let down you had also. It is hard when we put so very much into these hand made gifts for family thinking they get it.

Such beautiful stitching as always! I'm sorry to read that Aunt Audrey didn't seem thrilled with her gift. You and your husband did a great job with it. Perhaps she was just a bit surprised?
I love your Glory Bee finish - reminds me of the time my sons' school was having their May procession including the rosary...as they came to the Glory Be, a real bee flew past my youngest who said quite loudly "I wonder if that's the Glory Bee?"

All those finishes are lovely. I have actually quit giving stitching gifts to people unless I know how much they will appreciate them and the time they took. I thought your gift and its frame were wonderful!

Oh, gosh, Maggee! I would be so disappointed, too, if a gift as beautiful as your PS Sampler wasn't as well received as you hoped! It is stunning and I love it in the green frame... I stitched that piece years ago, but have yet to frame it. Need to get busy!

I love your Wisdom finish, too--those are the cutest designs. I did Peace and Love, but gave them both away. I only saved one for myself, but can't remember what it was :)

I've always meant to stitch Earth Laughs--will look forward to seeing your finish...

Enjoy your day, Maggee!!

Great stitching, Maggee. I also stitched the Earth Laughs piece some years ago but haven't turned it into anything yet. It' a lovely piece. Your framing is adorable, you and your husband are so good at it.
That Prairie Schooler piece looks wonderful in the green frame, just gorgeous. I'm so sorry that all that great stitching wasn't more appreciated by your aunt.

Fantastic finishes and framing! Sorry to hear your stitching wasn't as well received as expected. I've had that happen a few times as well.

Hi Maggee,
Your stitching is just lovely!! I just love the Wisdom peace with the little sheep....must be the schoolteacher in me...lol..and Shelter a Friend is just perfect because I love birds and so enjoy feeding them :)

Your Prairie Schooler sampler is just stunning and your husband did a wonderful job on the frame! I plan to stitch this sampler soon...it has always been one of my favorites :) I know the disappointment well after putting so much of yourself into a gift....but from one stitcher to another....it is just beautiful!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with all the things that bring you joy! I so appreciated your visit and comment on my blog....Jenny's Bend in the Road...Hugs!

Okay Maggee - wow you re some wonderful and generous finishing and framing for others. Then your PS bird stitch - your husband made a super frame and it is an AMAZING gift. My heart breaks that it was not received in the fashion that it should have been. Grrrr!
