Sad...

A friend from work had a baby girl, very prematurely. She was 2 pounds at birth, but she did well and was off all the tubes and stuff and gaining weight. Until the 24th, when she got very sick from an infection that started in her intestines and, eventually, took her to heaven. Even tho I never saw her in person, her mommy came back to work several times and shared pictures of her, plus her sister also works there and every day I got 'reports.' I am just so SAD about this. Thus little to no regular posts. I am trying to cheer myself up. They had her baptized before she left, so I should be happy that she went home... Just something I have to work out. Hugs.

One finish to show that is for ME!

I did the last of my commitment stitching, which should go out in the mail this week, and also finished a piece that I made for moi, that I just adore! It is Homespun Elegance, Snowman Sampler. I used a scrap of linen, 32-count I am sure, Waterlily's Teak silk, and mostly DMC and a white overdyed for the snowman. The finish is what drew me in... love it! I am a little late in doing my giveaway. Stuff happens, and I get distracted. Like having my husband around ALL the time... 'Nuf said... So, all that to say I am still working on it. Guess it will have to be re-named, but I will come up with something appropriate I am sure. Hugs.

LNS Exchange ornie

Here is a picture of my ornament I received in the exchange last night. It was stitched by Ann, over 1 on God-only-knows some tiny itty-bitty count fabric, and it is by Homespun Elegance. I LOVE Red Birds, so this is a perfect fit! Hugs.

One more finish to show...

We had our annual Christmas ornament exchange at our LNS tonight, and now I can show my last finish that ended up with my good friend, Sheryl! It is called Merry Stitches by Homespun Elegance, and I did it on 28 or 32 count R&R linen called Cranberry Bog, one of my favorites! Am kind of tired tonight, so will post my ornie tomorrow morning. Hugs.

100th Post!!

It is only fitting that I post the Good News that the surgeon gave us today: NOT Cancer!! Phew! Yahoo! and all that... I didn't feel apprehensive like last time. I had too many pray-ers blessing me!

I have more pictures to show! First is an ornament I received from Lynn for the Stitching Exchanging 'Anything Christmas' exchange, along with a few other goodies:

Then, a few more ornies I stitched... First is the Quaker Flamingo by Aury, done on 25 or 28 count sparkly evenweave. Made for Virginia, my flamingo-loving friend!

Next, the Homespun Elegance 'Peace to All' piece, done as a small pillow, for my stitching buddy at work, Marianne:
And Bent Creek's 'Happy Christmas' done on 32-count Dirty Linen, for my neighbors, the Bach's:
I sent off the piece I stitched in January, 'I Wish you the Merriest Christmas' that I did for my sister, Maryanne, on Monday. I nearly missed sending it, because I had it tucked away in a drawer of waiting-to-be framed pieces! But, no picture here...

And I have a couple more to show, but once they are given out. The one for my sister Catherine will not be given until late January, as she is moving to NC. And the other will be given out this Thursday... stay tuned! Hugs.

I am up and getting around...

Surgery went well, just waiting for pathology now. Doesn't hurt too much, which is nice. Darvocet works well! Thank you for all the well wishes, I appreciate them muchly. I have been able to stitch some, so that is VERY good! Hugs, Maggee

News

If I do not post much right now, please bear with me. My husband was fired today from his job of 31 years, and we are stunned. Not to mention, I am having surgery on Thursday. Not the best times... Lots of plans are changing. It's a struggle... Hugs.

A few finishes to show off!

Here are the pictures of the ornaments I have stitched and exchanged or given...

First is Little House Needleworks JOY ornament. I used 32-ct linen, DMC thread and seed beads in the flower border. I love the backing fabric, as you will see! Then, this Joy Snowman ornie from a JCS ornament magazine. Used a scrap of linen, and DMC threads. You may recognize the backing fabric... it goes quite well with those colors! And, then Willy's Gift from a JCS ornament magazine, using 32-ct Bone lugana, mostly DMC thread with a little bit of wool thrown in, and a dash of sparkly ribbon! And finally, this singing birdie, adapted from a french freebie chart (will look up name later)on 32 count natural linen, using all wool threads. Well, I think that is all I can show for now. I have a bunch more to finish, so stay tuned!
Hugs,
Maggee

Heard that two exchanges have been received

I heard from Angela and Wendy that they received my ornaments. However, my camera was not working so I have it on the charger again. Will have to show pictures tomorrow... AND I received one from April. But, again... have to wait to take pictures or retrieve them. Hugs.

Explanation of Wordless Wednesday yesterday

Tho I am sure SOME of you readers have seen snow already, it is a rarity here in SE Virginia and when it does snow a measurable amount, we folks play in it. On this particular day, the first order was to build a snowman (that is my son). After which, there ensued a Snow War with ALL the neighbors on the block! I took pictures! I ain't crazy!! :) Hugs.
