Cabana--but no Boys!

I neglected to post the pictures of my 'Cabana' I had while on vacation in Florida. Unfortunately, the 'boys' did not come with the package! Drats!! I took the picture to show my stitching bag in the Cabana... The Virgina Beach one!!

Can't make out the writing but that blue and black bag on the chair is full of my projects that I worked on while on vacation. I got such a bad sunburn on Day 2 and I could not do much outside for a few days, so I just had to sit around and stitch!! :)

God Bless America pin cushion finished

Here are the pictures of the Twisted Threads (Freedom Trio chart) patriotic 'pincushion' I made. I really like it! It was done on 32 ct. Light Mocha by R&R using DMC colors as called for... (221, 930 and Ecru) and Schneckley for the gold--just because it was out! Stuffed with ground walnut shells, to sharpen my pins IF I ever decide to use it as a pincushion.

TUSAL posting for June

It is time to post my picture of my Orts Jar for June, as part of the TUSAL. I am afraid there is not too much in there. I think I am very frugal with my threads. And with using petites, I can really use every last bit!!

Couple of Finishes

I finished the piece I had stitched for my daughter into a fabric framed piece. It is called Fanciful Alphabet by Monique Keylon of My Mark Designs. It is in the May 2006 issue of The Gift of Stitching. It came out pretty good...
AND--I am in the mood to stitch pink things... so here are pics of my first biscornu done on (Flax) 32 ct. linen. I finished it as a scissor fob, with a piece of silk ribbon from Vicki Clayton. Those are my new Dovo scissors--love them!

I also finished my God Bless America piece by Twisted Threads, but I left it at work. It is not 'quite' finished the way I said I would do it... was tired yesterday, and opted for quick and easy. But it is REALLY CUTE!! Will post a picture tomorrow... stay tuned!

Does ANYBODY know what I need to do to make my uploaded pictures clickable to their original size and detail?? I can find nothing about this!!!

Hugs.

Passing of Marc Davis of Needlemania

I am so saddened to hear that Marc passed away yesterday. I am a member of his Sampler Life Group on Yahoo, and we have emailed and 'talked' many times. He was a BIG factor in the way I stitched my Rosemarkie. One of the co-owners of the group started a virtual Memoriam for Marc by lighting a candle. I am going to put the link here, in case anyone wants to join in:http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=tsl I am just too sad for more... Hugs.

Stitching pictures

I am nearly done with God Bless America by Twisted Threads. I like how it looks. It will be my first patriotic piece for me. I am going to make it into a pillow with fabric at both ends... and leave it on the table by our front door...

I made the next one quite a while ago for my middle daughter, but have yet to finish it. Got some great fabric to do a fabric frame, and ribbon and buttons for the hanger. I have been giving her stitched pieces for each season for her kitchen wall.

And I worked a bit on my Welcome Sampler by Wiehenburg... finished one more motif. I am doing this as a SAL with two others in my local area, but they have not even touched theirs! I win!!! Heheheheh....
Well that's all the stitching updates for now. Hugs.

My Quaker House finished!

Forgot to post a picture of my finished Blackbird Design, My Quaker House. I loved doing it! It is on 32 count cream linen, and I mostly used the colors called for, with a few additions. Do you see my initials?
Hugs!

Summer Ornament exchange

Now that Jill has received her ornie from me, I can post a picture here. She loves the color purple, so I used every overdyed shade I could, plus the hanger is a piece of overdyed purple-y silk from VC. I love the backing fabric! Hugs!

A couple of smalls

I played around with a pattern I had in my freebie stash, and these two ornaments are the results. The dark one went to Marianne at work and the one (done over one) in shades of purple went to Sarah at work:

Does anyone know how to upload their pictures so that when you click on them, you get a closer look? It is not working here for me.

Hugs
